I came upon this old concept of combating hair loss accidentally, a few weeks ago. I started having some itching skin problem on my body just a few weeks earlier, probably due to the dry harsh winter weather. My body skin was dry, and i could see my own body skin flakes, dropping off my body. God i hate the winter but we still have to live with it. Then one day, by chance i happen to find a product, a body wash made of Oatmeal Colloidal. This oatmeal as i learned, technically is not the same as the oatmeal that some people eat for food. This Colloidal Oatmeal are made from very fine grounded Oatmeal powder, and mixed with water or other liquid solution, to create the wonderful results product. I used the Oatmeal Body wash for a couple of days and noticed a great improvement in the texture of my skin. It gave my skin so much moisture needed to maintain smooth skin and it prevents the dry weather from damaging my skin.
I began to think that i could apply the same concept to preserving the lost moisture in my hair. So i went Oatmeal hunting again in the market and found some Oatmeal Moisturizer Lotion for the hair and i tried it. It worked miracles, and i must say i could feel my hair so strong and silky as never before. When i run my hand over my hair, no hair fell off my hair scalp. I was puzzled that before when i did just that, dry hair would easily fall off my hair scalp. Also, i tried another shampoo containing Colloidal Oatmeal and it also worked wonders. Not many people realise that such great results can be obtained from simple sources.
A little history about Oatmeal, The Egyptians and the Arabians used them as a skin beauty treatment as early as 2000 BC. The ancient Romans and Greeks also used oat baths to heal skin problems and hair loss. Oats are great for treating skin because, when colloidal oatmeal covers the skin, it actually binds to the skin. This binding helps it moisturize and soften the skin, as well as help protect it. This is because the water is attracted to the skin and held there by the colloidal oatmeal. Colloidal oatmeal is also beneficial because of its natural ingredients, which include cellulose and fiber. All of these characteristics combined also are why colloidal oatmeal is able to make the skin softer and more elastic, and it also helps to fight hair loss.
